Armey's Axioms on Limited Government

Limited Government, lower taxes, Individual Responsibility, all principles in the traditional text book ideal of the Republican Party, to which recently, it has strayed. Armey makes clear points as to the state of the union, as it were, of the GOP and how it may be able to get back to its core principles. His advocacy group http://www.freedomworks.org/ is dedicated to these principles. We must return to these ideals, regardless of which party is able to bring them to pass.

I just visited the freedom works website, and went to the flat tax calculator http://www.cse.org/flattax/index.php

Why dont people of all sides think that the flat tax rocks! They have a quote from Clint Eastwood on there-
"I guess it's like trying to put through the flat tax, which is probably my favorite one of all.... if we did pass it, all of a sudden, what do you have? You have the whole tax system run by a little old lady on a home computer, doing the work of all these thousands of bureaucrats and accountants. Passing that would be amazing, wouldn't it?"

--Clint Eastwood in an interview with the New York Daily News, November 19, 1997

I was able to do my taxes in less than a minute. Damn the bureaucrats !

It is all about social policy. If the government doesn't have a way to control you, they don't have any power. Then they would actually have to do a job that we pay them for... what a crime against humanity. They love the complex tax system because they can tell one person to have kids, another person to not have kids, one person to build here or there, another not to. I believe that if people REALLY understood that reality they would rise up. But they don't. They believe it is all about the Robin Hood legend. Those damn rich people!! How dare they give me a job!
